When Name Calling Just Isn't Enough
I know that as an American with a twisted sense of humor, this is funnier than the poor bear's intent. But still.....middle school humor has its own time and place. Incidentally, the cookies are good!

I don't know why I'm so fascinated by boats out of the water. They're exciting in the water with their speeds and agility. But out? Why the draw? Perhaps the fond memories of going to my grandparents' house in Sheboygan, Wisconsin when I was a kid. My grandfather's boat sat in the driveway on her trailer waiting patiently for the summer when the Coho Derby commenced and she could show the others what she could do in the water. Until then she seemed like the unappreciated kid on the bench itching to show the world her potential. Ah, the possibilities.
I'm going to link you to my flickr account to see the series that made the Dallas Skyline photo. Also, a list of buildings in Dallas.
I only know this is a factory and its name is Pearlstone. Found a few things online regarding it but still nothing definitive because I have yet to find pictures to accompany any text. I loved the factory and one day when I get a big girl camera, I'll go back. I've included the original and the edited. Just looking at its tower, I'm reminded of headstones and cemeteries.
Deep Ellum is an area of Dallas with its history revolving around entertainment and business.
Before going to our musicfest at Live@Mokah we drove around Dallas and found this amazing view of the city from a warehouse. Forgive the unprofessional edit of the photo (and the photos themselves). They were taken with my little ViviCam 3783 and merged together using Photoshop 7.0. No editing other than using layers. I didn't want to lose the colors of the sky and I'm really only learning about Photoshop. Ok, disclaimers aside...it was simply a fantastic view of the skyline
The Renaissance Dallas Hotel. The Dallas cityscape is beautiful and this hotel catches my eye each time I drive into the city.
Ok. Obligatory photos from an airplane. You know the ones...taken of the wing, of the clouds, of the ground below. We all have them. Don't be shy to belong to the gang because no matter how many times you do it...it's still freaking awesome!
T
hese were taken during July 4th weekend when I came to Dallas for my homefinding trip.
Check out some of my trip photos on an unframed 5x7.
These two young boys are absolute characters. Zavier loves cars and has freakishly amazing knowledge on them. Also, his reading ability is shocking. He and Emma....Wow! Linkin...what can I say about this boy. He's got a wicked sense of humor and loves animals. Funniest thing about him is his love of cot. Cot refers to anything like cotton balls or the lint one finds in the dryer. He balls it up and carries it around. That and Play-Do. Both make me laugh.
This was originally taken on 06.28.06 using my Razr. It reminds me of architectural wonders, like the Arc de Triomphe or any arc of a suspension bridge.

Bright at Photo Friday.
I love this photo because the sky appeared completely black in the photo which just emphasizes the neon, lights, and flags beckoning people to eat at the restaurant.
Emma and I had met Mrs. Devine here, a new Chinese restaurant in town. Good food with sushi on the menu also. If anyone wants to get me a cool birthday present or such....I want a neon sushi sign.
Because of the lack of a dryer in the house still, I have to visit a laundry every once in a while. Passing the time, I took some pics. They are up at The Vivicam. I had my new phone with me and sent one earlier.
Remember the Scooby Doo episode where the gang was crossing a river in a boat and Shaggy or Scoobs cuts the fog with a knife in the shape of a doughnut? Had a chat with Carrie a couple of days ago about a recent foggy day she was having. Reminded me that I had this shot saved. Been meaning to post it to The ViviCam.
Sometime in December or November, I photographed myself during a depressive episode. I was in bed as I usually find myself during my bleak moments, with ViviCam in hand. The following eleven are just slivers of that moment.
Depression is ugly for me. I don't like what I look like as is but when I am depressed....I am at my worse. I wasn't sure if I should share these because frankly, I cringe looking at my face. But here I am in all my full sepia-colored glory.
Don't know if I am showing anything of value to anyone else...but revealing my depressive side is not a light-hearted thing for me.
I was a chaperon for Emmaline's Girl Scout Troop yesterday at the Gulfarium in Fort Walton Beach. It was closed to the public for the entire day, which is always cool. Got some great shots from the little digital.
I must say that there are some limitations to the ViviCam but I am pleasantly surprised at what turned out SPECTACULARLY well. Just a few here. By the way, that sea turtle was, by far my favorite thing. Places like this make me both sad and happy. More on that later. For now. Just enjoy the three photos.
