Trying to kill time waiting for my child to get ready for school. I've woken her up several times in the last thirty minutes, which is an indication that she will be late today. It's seven in the morning and we still haven't walked out of the door....Soooooooo, as I wait I thought I'd do the movie recap for yesterday's viewing.
Was able to see three movies on my day off. Alone, I watched Elizabethtown with Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. I have a movie to add to my favorites list. There isn't anything innovative to this film but the story is touchingly beautiful. There are several journeys within it for the main chaacter. We have Bloom's Drew discovering himself in the wake of his father's death. Yes, I know.....done before but the theme was beautifully executed here.
I LOVED the music. I hope the soundtrack had everything in the film...doubt seriously, but by God....It was good. Mix of modern, classic rock, blues, and the lot. Yummy!!!! Anyone who wants to, I will not turn down this (or Rollbounce's soundtrack) for my birthday.
One of my favorite scenes was Drew and Claire's (Dunst) final hug. The look on his face was a loud, resounding "I am home." Every single one of us should have a look like that when we hug someone.
sigh....love the loving in that film. Between the memories (albeit, brief) Drew has of his dad and the final acceptance of Susan Sarandon's character (by the way...have I mentioned I love Sarandon. She gets more beautiful each year. She is one female that gracefully ages and says "I refuse to be someone I am not" with every role she takes. Brava, Susan. Brava!). I was even able to not stare at Kirsten's mouth throughout the movie....Have I mentioned that I get sidetracked watching that chick? Her mouth is all wrong for her face. Lips too thin. Teeth too small. Gums WAY TOO BIG. I end up watching her mouth in every thing I see her in. Eh, distracting. BUUUUUUT, I was able to focus on other things despite the mouth (and I'm not saying she's unattractive. She has a simple prettiness to her. I don't think she's drop dead gorgeous. Not even beautiful. She's just a 'simple pretty.' Others may say plain.).
hmmmm.
Ok. Next film: Waiting. The Penis Showing Game. Yes, the film has its immature base but who can't do with a little Penis Showing Game every now and then.
